Removal, de-indexing, and suppression are different
| Approach | What changes | What it does not promise |
|---|---|---|
| Platform removal | The post or comment is removed from Reddit. | Removal of copies or immediate updates in search. |
| Search de-indexing | A search engine excludes a result under an applicable process. | Deletion of the original Reddit content. |
| Search suppression | Other relevant pages compete with the negative result. | A fixed ranking or disappearance of the thread. |
When is a Reddit report appropriate?
Match the specific content to an applicable rule and document the reason. Reddit provides reporting options for potential rule violations through the content’s report controls and its help center. A report is a request for review, not a removal order. Read Reddit’s reporting guidance before choosing a route.
For a business dispute, distinguish a checkable factual statement from a customer’s opinion. Include concise evidence for the specific claim you contest. Repeated reports or pressure on users are not a substitute for a valid basis.
Can Google remove the result while the thread stays online?
Google provides processes for certain personal information and other eligible content. A business disliking a review does not by itself establish eligibility. Removing a Google result does not remove the source page from Reddit. Review Google’s private-information and outdated-content guidance for the available categories.
If the source has already changed, an outdated search result may need a different process from a request about content that remains live. We record the current source and result before recommending which route to investigate.
What to send for an eligibility review
- The exact post and comment URLs, rather than a screenshot alone.
- The statement or exposed information that concerns you.
- The reason you believe it is inaccurate or violates a rule.
- Relevant evidence you are authorized to share, with unnecessary personal information removed.
- Any reports already submitted and the responses received.
Do not send passwords or customer records in an initial inquiry. A short description and public links are enough to start the conversation.
What happens if removal is not available?
We can recommend a factual response, clearer information on your own website, and a branded search plan. A legal dispute may need qualified legal counsel; Reditic’s service is reputation assessment and execution, not a legal determination. Case fees and any outcome-based terms require a written scope after feasibility review. No removal outcome is promised in advance.
